The American Quilter's Society is a dynamic membership organization with goals firmly set in future growth of the American quilting community. With members from all states of territories of the United States, and 80 foreign countries, AQS has established itself as a voice within the quilting community.

Headquartered in Paducah, Kentucky, AQS strives to provide the highest quality products and services to our members and the quilting community, as a whole.

  • Our American Quilter magazine is provided to our membership on a quarterly basis, with an additional special issue each year.
  • Known around the world from our quilt shows and contests, AQS is constantly developing new programs to provide the latest in information, trends, and entertainment. Our AQS Quilt Show & Contest celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2004. Every April, over 37,000 attendees converge on Paducah, Kentucky for this well-loved event--making us Quilt City USA®. And our new show--AQS Quilt Exposition--is held each August in Nashville, Tennessee at the Gaylord Opryland Resort, is becoming a favorite among quilters.
  • As part of our ongoing commitment to our shared history, inspire today's quilters, and to build for the future, AQS has developed the AQS Quilt Appraisers Certification Program. We provide instruction and certification for qualified quilt appraisers working in the community today.
