About AQS: Staff Biographies

Marge Boyle Marge Boyle

In Memoriam

Margaret Ruth Boyle

The American Quilter’s Society staff mourns the passing of Marge Boyle on October 26, 2010.

Marge became our sales and marketing director on June 11, 2007. Before coming to AQS, she worked in other areas of the quilting industry as well as in the retail and garment trade. She was a dedicated employee and a valued team player.

With her cheerful, pleasant, and caring personality, Marge wasn’t just a co-worker–she was also a friend. She was a good listener with good advice whether it be personal, fashion, or even home décor.

In her spare time, Marge always had a home improvement project going on. She was a collector of quilts and appreciated their artistry, using them to decorate her home and office. She made quilts of her own but never as many as she would have liked. Her love for animals was immense–especially for her dogs Jack and Jill, who were always a fun topic of conversation.

She also loved her longtime home, Chicago, and her family. She is survived by her husband Jim and several family members across the country.

Friendly, hardworking, helpful–we will miss everything about Marge. She always had a smile and a greeting for you to start your day and a smile and well wishes to send you on your way at night.

Marge Boyle was an admired and respected member of the quilting community for many years and has been a great contributor to AQS. She will be missed by all who knew her.
