Michelle J. Linder

Michelle J. Linder

Michelle J. Linder has been quilting for over 35 years and loves both machine and hand quilting. Her specialty is designing and making quilt construction methods fast and accurate. Since 1977 Michelle has taught many creative classes.

In addition to teaching, Michelle wrote her first quilting book in 1987 titled The Orange Peel Method, which focused on a fast and easy construction for rail quilts and variations. For three years, she owned her own fabric store named Country Cousins. Michelle was also the leader of a quilting club for ten years and was a California state accredited quilting judge at county fairs. Over the years, she’s been in many quilting guilds and lent her services for charity and community work.

“As a teacher, I saw that some of my students were struggling with their miniature quilts. They were having trouble piecing together their quilts accurately. I knew there had to be a better way. So I started experimenting with an idea, fine-tuning the method and developing it for larger quilts. And the ‘Square Magic Method’ was born.”

Michelle currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, Ron, and dog, Hoppy. She has two children and four grandchildren.
