Brenda M. Papadakis
Brenda Papadakis, who has been making quilts since 1975, especially enjoys drafting and designing. She saw a photo of Jane Stickle's 1863 quilt and became so enamored that she spent the next five years researching the life and times in which Jane lived. The book "Dear Jane" is the result of that labor. In 1997, Brenda retired, after teaching math for 25 years, to devote her time to lecturing and teaching, throughout the United States, Japan, and Holland, about Jane Stickle, the Civil War, and nineteenth-century history. Articles about the Dear Jane phenomenon have appeared in "McCall's Vintage Quilt Magazine," "Ladies Circle Patchwork Quilts," and quilting magazines in Holland, Australia, Denmark, and Japan.

Laura D. Patrick
Laura D. Patrick’s mother was an avid seamstress, but as a child, Laura steered clear of the mechanized needle––choosing, instead, the quiet world of needlework. Throughout college she was a lineman fueling aircraft, worked as a Space Camp counselor, and was a researcher at NASA. Following her graduation with a degree in physics, she worked in the air and missile defense program. Laura didn’t start quilting, however, until her late twenties, when she started taking handwork on business trips. Life changed in 2001 when Laura resigned to care for her children full-time, and then gained recognition for spearheading a project known as “The Quilt That Raised the Roof” which raised money to repair tornado damage to her church. At two stories tall and 200 square feet, “The Quilt That Raised the Roof” is now a permanent fixture at Huntsville’s Trinity United Methodist Church. Laura has been married to the love of her life, Brian, since 1993; they have two children. Her co-conspirator and co-author is Ed Ditto.

Sue Patten
Sue Patten began piecing quilts and hand quilting in 1991. As her quilting style evolved, she plunged into machine quilting in 2000. Sue now works out of her own longarm training studio in Hagersville, Ontario, Canada, where she teaches a wide range of classes to quilters on every level from beginners to more advanced. She frequently travels throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe to educate others in the art of longarm machine quilting. Sue has been featured on "Linda’s Longarm Quilting" with Linda Taylor and her quilts have appeared on Sue Warden "CraftScapes." Sue has been featured in various books and magazines, such as "Better Homes & Gardens," "Dream Catcher," "Rosemary Makhan’s Biblical Blocks," and Virginia A. Walton’s "Slow Down, Curves Ahead." Sue’s most rewarding role is that of single parent to three delightful children. Her deepest passion is spending time with them. Sue thrives on their artistic energy and draws inspiration from working with her kids.

Jennifer Shackelford Perdue
Jen made her first quilt at age 10 and has continued to enjoy both sewing and quilting. She has a background in garment making, home dec, machine piecing, hand quilting, and longarm quilting. She is currently quilting for others, using a Gammill Optimum with a Statler Stitcher.
Jen’s quilts have been included in both regional and national shows and have won awards including several First Place ribbons, Best Machine Quilting, and Judge’s Recognition. She was also awarded Third place in the Young Designers Category at AQS in 2007. Her quilts have been published on the Gammill website Showcase Gallery of winning quilts and American Quilter magazine. She also made an appearance as part of a quilt group on Today’s American Quilter television program.
She is a member of the American Quilter’s Society and the National Quilting Association.
Jen enjoys an active family life with her husband Scott, and her two children, Amber and Brandon. She also works with a 3D CAD program, designing custom jewelry.

Always ready for a new challenge, Linda Pool has created some of the most recognizable quilts in the world. The Bride, The Greatest Moments of a Girl’s Life, and Linda’s Lace have won prestigious awards and are all totally different in technique. At the moment, Linda is specializing in cutwork appliqué and is the owner of the pattern company Very Victorian, LLC.
Living in Virginia, Linda teaches nationally and has had her quilts exhibited throughout the world.

Linda M. Poole lives in a beautiful region on the outskirts of the Pocono Mountains, in Milford, Pennsylvania, overlooking the Delaware River. She has taught throughout the United States, as well as Europe, Asia and French Polynesia. Her never-ending curiosity enables her to travel, seeking new inspirations for her classes and her quilts. She is a first-generation American with an ancestry in European artists, weavers, embroiderers, writers, poets, stained-glass artisans, sculptors, and silversmiths. Donna’s reputation as a patient teacher comes from her mother’s gentle way of showing her the finer points of stitching. Donna became a Home Economics teacher, a needlework storeowner, a lecturer, and an author of quilt books. Along the way she has taught at national quilt shows and even been on TV! Nancy Prince
A quilt artist from Orlando, Florida, Nancy specializes in thread painting. Her anyone-can-do-it approach has created a technique that provides a new way for quilters to broaden their quilting experience. She travels the country teaching and lecturing, sharing the excitement and creativity thread painting brings to her quilting world. She excels in taking the mystery out of thread painting, making it fun and easy enough for anyone to master. Nancy has appeared on television and in national publications. Her quilts have won Best of Show, Viewer’s Choice, Artistic Merit, Best Machine Workmanship, and Judge’s Recognition awards at recent shows and a first place at Bernina University. In addition to her husband, Tom, she has three grown sons and eight adorable grandchildren. She spends most of her time juggling her family, quilting, and teaching.
