Rose became interested in quilting when her sister, Kathy, suggested she "make her own quilt" as she struggled to find a commercial bedspread she liked when she redecorated her son's bedroom. Kathy supplied her with fabric and a simple pattern. Upon finishing the quilt, Rose was hooked! That same year she made six more. Color, textures, and patterns have always interested this recently retired public school art teacher, so quilting has become another art form for her. Other hobbies are oil painting, making pottery, and traveling. Rose and her husband, Mike, live on a farm in northeast Iowa. They have an adult daughter and an adult son.
