Review of Ribbon Treasures from Celia's Garden - 02/10/2009
    Reviewer: The Quilter from USA

Once you’ve worked with ribbon to create floral embellishments and other treasures, you’ll be hooked for good. Faye Labanaris, an accomplished quilter and hand appliquér, was inspired to write “Ribbon Treasures from Celia’s Garden” as a follow-up to “Blossoms by the Sea,” also published by AQS. Both books came about after Faye read “Letters from Celia Thaxter,” an antique book she purchased in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which contained a picture of Celia’s cottage and garden glued to the inside cover. You will absolutely marvel at Faye’s ribbon flowers, which look lifelike–as if they were just picked. Faye’s easy-to-make three-dimensional blooms can be used to embellish quilts, clothing, and fashion accessories, or they can be turned into gift items. Beginners, especially, will enjoy the numerous step-by-step photos showing stitching details. If you are a lover of ribbon, you will most certainly enjoy this book.
