A terrific pattern book for machine quilters who want to culitivate their skills - 07/07/2009
Reviewer: The Quilter Magazine from USA
"Machine Freehand Patterns" offers a comprehensive selection of patterns and motifs that readers can use as a springboard for their own creative interpretations. With this in mind, Nan introduces the idea of "faux pantographs." While a traditional pantograph is a design traced by a machine quilter, a faux pantograph uses the block design in the actual quilt as a guideline for freehand drawing. The book is broken into chapters encompassing meanders, allovers, faux pantographs, block motifs, and borders. It also includes ideas for quilting inside unusual blocks and setting triangles, and offers comprehensive border layouts--including continuous corner placements.
