As a fan of Renae's quilts, it is exciting that she is willing to share her techniques for drafting and sewing curves and radiating medallions. The only thing better would be if she would come over and make it for me. Smile. Great instructions and photos.

Renae Haddadin is the master of precision-pieced medallion quilts. In this master class, she shares all her secrets. The first seven chapters are devoted to the step-by-step process to enable you to learn not only all the techniques you'll need to know, but what products work best and the optimal way to set up your sewing space. Renae includes instructions for seven projects based on her quilts. Patterns are also included on a CD. This is not an undertaking for the beginner, but, if your desire is to take your quilting to the next level, Renae will hold your hand every step of the way. Renae's quilting adds another layer of design to her work. We can only hope that her next book is "Amazing Ways to Quilt Circles & Rays!"
Circles & Rays by Renae Haddadin - 04/15/2010

Design and draft your own Mariner’s Compass and New York Beauty quilts. Sounds scary doesn’t it? Renae Haddadin, in her book “Amazing Ways to Use Circles & Rays,” has simplified this process for us. If you take the time to do each step carefully, you will not only learn simple ways to draft these once complicated patterns, but you will also learn to do them very accurately. Renae says the most complicated math required using her drafting technique is knowing what a 90-degree angle is. I admit this is not for the faint of heart, but after sitting down one night and carefully reading through each step, I was much less intimidated––especially since much of the piecing is done with foundation paper piecing, my favorite!
