AQ Magazine: Staff Biographies
Iris Frank, Contributing Editor
“The best part of this position,” Iris says, “is meeting and getting to know the stories of so many interesting and talented quilters.” Iris has several relatives from past generations who were quilters, and one of her prized possessions is a doll quilt made by her Aunt Alice in 1939. Living in the beautiful coastal community of Santa Cruz, California, provides unending inspiration for quilt designs. Her small group created a ten-panel coastal landscape quilt which was juried into the 2008 Quilts of the Pacific Rim show at The National Quilt Museum in Paducah. Other highlights of her quilting odyssey include having a quilt juried into the IQA West Coast Wonders exhibit, and a memorial quilt juried into a 9–11 exhibition at the TwentseWelle Museum in Enschede, The Netherlands. In addition to quilting, Iris enjoys gardening, walking, and her two sons and their families.
