AQ Magazine: Staff Biographies
Kathie Kerler, Contributing Editor
Kathie has been quilting for the past 20+ years and is an NQA certified quilt judge. She has completed programs in design and embroidery through London City and Guilds College in London, England; coursework at the Lesage School of Needlework in Paris, France; organized quilt and fiber shows; served on a non-profit board dedicated to assisting the disabled through art; and taught youth through a “Master Quilter” program. Skills gained from such activities contribute to her position as a field editor for American Quilter magazine as she works with quilt designers on technique, design, and pattern articles. A native Oregonian, Kathie lives in Portland where she has been involved in restoring vintage homes. Currently, she is writing two picture book biographies for children. Kathie is always excited to meet quiltmakers with new or unique stories and ideas that would be of interest to AQ readers.
