The Quilt Life About The Quilt Life
Paducah, KY - The American Quilter’s Society announced today that it will cease to publish The Quilt Life magazine after the October 2014 issue. The publication, which showcases quilting tips, tools, and anecdotal stories about the quilting lifestyle by popular celebrity quilters Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims, has been in production for the past four years.
The decision to sunset The Quilt Life magazine comes as part of a wider growth strategy for the American Quilter’s Society, which has been simultaneously enhancing its core digital and print publications while growing the annual number of QuiltWeek events and shopaqs.com product offerings by approximately 75% in 2014.
“We have truly enjoyed quilting, creating, imagining, and laughing along with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims over the past four years,” stated Meredith Schroeder, publisher of The Quilt Life. “We continue to value their friendship as we look toward the continued growth of AQS.”
“We are not anticipating any internal layoffs with this change. In fact, we are scheduled to augment our staff by 30% in response to the increase in industry demand,” said Billy Schroeder, president of Schroeder Publishing, the parent company of AQS.
All current The Quilt Life subscribers will receive an official notification regarding their subscription to the magazine by August 15, 2014. In lieu of The Quilt Life, subscribers will automatically receive issues of the American Quilter magazine along with continuing American Quilter’s Society membership benefits for the remaining time of their subscription periods.
