Jan Magee, Editor-in-Chief
Since starting her first quilt and her career in publishing in the early 1970s, Jan has
enjoyed seeing both industries grow and evolve along with technology and the Internet.
Her publishing experience includes writing, editing, and design for major media, book
publishers, and advertising clients. Since 1994, she has been employed in the quilt
publishing industry exclusively, combining her passion and experience as senior editor of Quiltmaker, and as editor-in-chief of Quilters Newsletter and Quilter’s Home before
joining the AQS team, Ricky Tims, and Alex Anderson in launching “The Quilt Life.”
Jan’s quilting style ranges from contemporary traditional to art quilts and her work has
been accepted into numerous regional, national, and international exhibitions and
competitions. Jan, who lives in Denver, Colorado, belongs to several guilds and serves on the Board of Directors of the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum.
