AQS Announces Elaine Brelsford as Executive Book Editor
by AQS Staff
The American Quilter’s Society announces the appointment of Elaine H. Brelsford as the company’s Executive Book Editor. She will be responsible for expanding the company’s book publishing and acquisitions efforts. Elaine began her career with AQS in the editorial department and this marks her second promotion.
A native of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, Elaine comes from a family of quilters. She began quilting in 2001 when her husband was considering a job transfer that would move their family from Richmond, Va. to Paducah, Ky. Knowing that Paducah is recognized as Quilt City USA, she immediately found a local quilt shop and took a class for beginners. For the last twelve years, she has thoroughly enjoyed expanding her quilting knowledge and skills.
AQS President Meredith Schroeder stated, “With Elaine’s skills as a quilter and her editing and management style, quilters can be assured that AQS will continue its 30-year tradition of providing quality, educational publications.” Elaine stated, “I am honored to serve as the Executive Book Editor and will work hard so that AQS publications will be a constant source of inspiration to quilters.”
Elaine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Religion and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Ashland University and Ashland Theological Seminary, respectively. She has held positions in marketing, management, church leadership, as well as free-lance public speaking and writing. Elaine is married to Gregg and has three children, Nate, Natalie, and Nolan. She lives in Paducah with Sparkle, the perfect twenty-dollar dog.
