Paducah Ranks 3rd in USA Today’s Best Small Town For Culture
by Taylor Inman, WKMS
USA Today’s 2018 Reader’s Choice Travel Awards ranks Paducah the third Best Small Town For Culture.
The newspaper’s website credits Paducah’s UNESCO Creative City status, The National Quilt Museum, and a thriving arts community.
Paducah Commissioner and Visitors Bureau marketing director Laura Oswald said travel writers selected Paducah in a top 20 list that readers narrowed down.
“So it’s not just us, saying we’re the best," Oswald said. "There was a handful of travel experts that have a full view of what’s out there giving some credibility to the Paducah experience.”
Oswald said the timing of the ranking could benefit local tourism before Memorial Day weekend and the start of summer.
USA Today ranked Ashbury Park, New Jersey, in second place and Lake City, South Carolina, in first place for Best Small Town For Culture.
