This book was inspired by the many quilting friends who wanted to make the quilt Marsha D. Radtke replicated from the amazingly intact, signed, 1850s Baltimore Album quilt she came upon in her rural Maryland parsonage attic. Marsha grew up in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and started sewing when she was a child, receiving much inspiration from her grandmother who could do anything with a needle and thread. After working as an operations manager for several years, she and her husband retired to Tennessee in 1993, where she began quilting. Appliqué has been her first love and has won her many ribbons and awards, beginning with her very first appliquéd quilt. She feels she is very blessed to have found something she really enjoys and so many wonderful friends with whom to share.
