What caught my eye was the front cover fabric....which I have yards of! In 2 color ways! It's been sitting on my fabric shelve for a long time and I've had no inspirational ideas for it until now. I think someone with basic quilting skills could use this book but an intermediate quilter will get the most out of it and all the fussy cutting techniques. It does assume you have basic quilting skills, and I'm ok with that. Simple piecing but planned placement are the keys...D. Paukstys

Wonderful, wonderful. Our featherweight group made their quilts for fun, learning the technique. Now we are scouring the quilt shops! Mine was a flannel burgundy/cream rose fabric. Absolutely stunning.

"Wonderful 1-Fabric Quilts" by Kay Nickols shows how to take one fabric with a border and create all sorts of stunning quilts. Many of these projects feature garden themes or floral printed fabrics. There are easy to follow, step-by-step directions showing how to choose and cut the fabrics, how to construct, and how to finish the quilt. Some of these pieced quilts are easy enough for beginners. Dear Kaye,
I bought your book, Wonderful One-Fabric Quilts last summer and thoroughly enjoyed looking at the pictures.
Recently, I found some appropriate fabric that I liked, and decided to give your technique a try. I bought a LOT of the fabric because I wanted to experiment with different cuts.
This technique was so much fun! Your instructions, photos and diagrams were so clear and concise. It was very easy to understand and fun to do the experiments. This was the most fun I’ve had piecing a quilt top in a very long time. Great Book!!!
Sincerely,
Anne Shears

Kay Nickols’ tells how to begin with one border-striped fabric and move on to piece an entire quilt. Blocks, borders and binding call ALL be cut from the same fabric using the technique featured here, which teaches some elaborate sewing techniques. Quilters will find this reference an excellent and important library addition. Review source: The Midwest Book Review, The Bookwatch newsletter, December 2007.
