Betty Alderman has given Sue a makeover. She has a new attitude…sometimes sweet and sometimes jaunty. A new look also means new settings for her quilts. These appliquéd and embroidered sunbonnet figures appear in a fresh and compelling fashion. You will find them prefect for appliqué, embroidery or drawn-in details. Use your blocks as a border or as part of a scene. You will find lots of inspiration to create your own projects or try any of the 11 projects found in the book. My favorite is the “Sunbonnet Paper Doll” quilt. This is exactly what it sounds like. Sue is depicted as a paper doll in the center with different outfits with tabs on the outside. Then again, I like her in the pansy patch and harvesting pumpkins and I just love the “Goodbye to summer” project. What can I say, there are just too many projects to choose from. All instructions are well written and amply illustrated.
