This is a beautiful book on a very simple concept. There are several projects to try out and an interesting section in the front about designing your own quilts. I have not yet ordered some of the color setting products, so have only been creating the designs and not coloring. You may be able to substitute other color fixers but I would suggest testing on very small samples and then washing them repeatedly to see what the results are. I really like this book! -J. Wharton

Quilt first, add color later. This is the technique that Irena teaches in this very colorful, design-packed book. She walks you through the process of choosing a theme, gathering the materials, marking and quilting the project, using colored pencils and color application. Each chapter is loaded with clear, precise pictures and drawings, giving you the option to use her design motifs or to use them as a starting place for your own ideas. Irena includes eight projects and a gallery of her quilts, as well as those created by her students. If you’ve ever wanted to try a wholecloth quilt and work with lots of color at the same time, this book will lead the way.
