    Review of Stack-n-Whackipedia - 03/24/2009
Reviewer: Fabric Trends Magazine from USA

Learning how to create eye-catching kaleidoscope quilts is as easy as stacking and whacking! Bethany Reynolds, book author and queen of the Stack-n-Whack technique, never imagined that the little block experiment she tried years ago would lead to its much celebrated tenth anniversary. Bethany's most recent book is filled with intriguing new designs, projects, workshops, and tips for creating your own wonderfully unique kaleidoscope quilts. Arranged into seven "volumes," this book offers inspiration and guidance for beginners and experienced quilters alike. Basic rotary cutting supplies and a great medium-scale to large-scale print are the key ingredients to getting started. The stacking and cutting take remarkably little time; then, the fun starts. Simple squares, triangles, diamonds, and wedges yield unique pieced blocks. By utilizing different areas of the stack, totally different and spontaneous designs emerge with very little fabric waste. With lots of specific step-by-step diagrams and illustrations, it is easy to see how each block is created. Dozens of colorful projects for a variety of full-size quilt projects are offered along with reference charts and tutorials, applicable to all types of quilting projects. Once comfortable with the basic procedure, you can design your own stack-n-whack quilts. The templates, illustrations, and diagrams are clear, concise, and colorful. Bethany offers tips and tricks throughout, including mini-workshops and lesson plans for teachers and shop owners. By simply letting the fabric do the work, quilters can create dynamic pieced blocks without hours of planning and precision cutting, and the quilting experience is always fresh and exciting! - "Fabric Trends" magazine, Spring 2009, page 92

    Review of Stack-n-Whackipedia - 01/07/2009
Reviewer: Anne Scott, New Zealand Quilter from New Zealand

it is ten years since Bethany Reynolds launched her phenomenally popular Stack-n-whack® technique and her latest volume on the subject - "Stack-n-Whackipedia" - celebrates this milestone with new designs and information on the technique. Although it can use a lot of fabric, clear diagrammatical illustrations and fussy cutting make the process simple. The visual effects of this kaleidoscope appear way more complex than they actually are and this technique is suitable for beginners.
