...You can either take your inspiration from the designs and free quilt your own interpretations of the ones you see. Take them apart, combine them, enlarge, reduce to fit your quilts. I think it wouldn't be very hard at all to use with a longarm to make up your own combinations to follow with your laser light as well. I was looking for more unique filling ideas and this book meets my needs. -Bridget Forestcats

Add fresh ideas to your repertoire of machine quilting patterns - 07/07/2009
Reviewer: The Quilter Magazine from USA
Inspired by real-world objects, such as stained glass windows, fireworks, and door hinges, Lynda Smith offers quilters truly inventive, unusual machine quilting designs. The patterns are appropriate for both machine and hand quilting and provide a new vision for those who would like to break from a traditional mold. The book is laid out in a user-friendly format and provides large block-sized patterns, as well as continuous border motifs in the same style. Some design ideas continue for pages, offering a theme and variations, so users can adapt the same basic pattern to a variety of applications. Lynda's designs offer a modernist aesthetic to quilting layout, while remaining true to traditional style considerations. It is a perfect book for quilters who want to add some fresh ideas to their repertoire of machine quilting patterns. The Quilter Magazine, September 2009, page 103.
