    Description

What quilter doesn't need a scrap-o-lator to deal with all her scraps? Dianne made 4 fabulous scrappy quilts but had barely made a dent in her scrap pile, so she decorated her table with a runner and reversible placemats. More scraps. She sewed a lamp shade. More scraps. She stopped sewing and started gluing. A rug, a mirror, a folding chair, another lamp, a mailbox, and one piggy bank later, she gave up trying to scrape the bottom of her scrap baskets and wrote this book. Now anyone can make these 13 scrap-o-lator projects.

I can't quit talking about this book. A refreshing and delightful approach to quilting and home decor. Dianne took a basket of scraps and what she made with those scraps continues to make my heart go zing!

This beautiful book by Dianne Springer is filled with great ideas and gorgeous photos. The instructions are clear and very easy to follow. The variety of projects in the book would insure that everyone would find things to make. If you do not like to create, this book is so pretty it would make a great "Coffee Table" book.

Oh my gosh. This book is FA-A-A-AB-U-LOUS. The best book on scrappy quilts that I have ever seen. In fact, I think that I need one in every room, especially the potty room for some light reading. That way as soon as I get done, I am going to make the rug, no, the lamp, no, the chair,.....I want to do it AL-L-L-L-L-L. Oh wait, I already did that, heh heh. Thank you, AQS!!!

After only two years of quilting, author Diane Springer found herself with two large baskets of scraps. She began making scrap quilts in order to eliminate her scrap pile, and she wants to help you to the same. Her quilts are a blend of colored prints mixed in with black and white to add drama. My favorite is the quilt titled "Dad's Diamonds." The layout is particularly effective. In addition to quilts, Diane features a number of imaginative home dec projects that take little to no sewing, which might interest some of the kids in the family.
