This is a good book for someone that already has some quilting experience and is ready to tackle a wholecloth quilt. Judy gives you some good ideas of where to get some design inspirations, what tools to use, and how to use those tools. There are also several samples of quilting designs and quilts that have been quilted. I also enjoyed the sections on drawing a Mariner's compass (even for the Geometry challenge) and the thread painting section.

This is a great book for someone interested in creating their own original work but who doesn't know where to start. Judy covers the entire design process from creating a pieced top to a wholecloth quilt to thread painting, not to mention a variety of quilting designs. She even offers a number of ideas from where she derives her inspiration to in turn inspire the reader. The tools she uses are readily available and instructions are well illustrated. The quilt gallery shows a variety of quilt styles, with something for everyone.
