Sanctioned Quilting Events during the AQS Quilt Show

The gardens feature a quilt-themed display on the outside grounds. The Northwing Gallery, lobby, and Show House corridor showcase an exhibit of original quilt works. Quilting through the Seasons, curated by American Patchwork and Quilting magazine; and a living quilt by the Polk County Master Gardeners in the Show House. Look for quilt patterns and books with quilt and garden themes in the Garden Gate Gift Shop. Riverwalk Café is open for lunch Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily. Admission: Free with AQS name Badge or admission bracelet for the AQS Quilt Show attendees. Adults 18 – 64: $4.00; Seniors 65+: $2.00; children 6 – 17: $2.00; children 5 and under, free. Historic Valley Junction welcomes you to the Quilter’s Open House, Valley Junction, West Des Moines
Valley Junction stores will showcase quilts in their front windows welcoming our AQS guests to this quaint area of West Des Moines. The Quilt Walk and in store specials will run from Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. And the Quilter's Open House will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Enjoy a pleasant evening of unique shopping, distinctive quilt exhibits, special events, complimentary refreshments and delightful dining.
Free admission. Free shuttle bus from the Iowa Events Center (ends at 5:00 p.m. each day, except during the Open House when the buses end at 8:00 p.m.).
Known for its 150 unique specialty stores, Valley Junction welcomes those attending the AQS Quilt Show to the Quilt Walk and and Quilter’s Open House. For more information, visit www.valleyjunction.com.
Directions to Valley Junction:
From I-235, take the 63rd Street exit. Go south and follow the brown directional signs to Railroad Avenue. Turn right onto Railroad Avenue for 5 blocks to Fifth Street. That is a one-way street heading north. Temporary parking is available on the street and long-term parking is available in parking lots on Fourth and Sixth Streets.
