2011 Pilgrim/Roy Quilt Challenge – an invitational challenge issued to nationally-known quiltmakers; these quilts will be auctioned at the AQS Quilt Show in Paducah in 2011
Fiber Revolution/Kalahari Quilts – an ongoing collaboration with the Fiber Revolution quilters and quilters in Gaborone, Botswana. Fiber Revolution is a network of American textile artists, all of whom are from the New England and Mid-Atlantic states. Their mission is to promote quilts as an art form and to educate the public about fiber art. Founded by Jenny Heath, the focus of Kalahari Quilts is to provide mothers with skills with which to support their children while giving them the opportunity to work from home and care for their children.
New Quilts from an Old Favorite: Sunflowers – semifinalists in a challenge to quiltmakers to create an innovative quilt based on a specific traditional pattern, contest of The National Quilt Museum, Paducah, Kentucky
The Perfect Journey by Karen Kay Buckley – Oprah Winfrey said, “Luck is preparation meeting opportunity. If you hadn’t been prepared when the opportunity came along, you wouldn’t have been lucky.” In this exhibit Karen Kay’s quilts show how she combined her luck and skill to create beautiful award-winning quilts.
