Back to General Information

In addition to the contest quilts in the Expo Center and on the 2nd floor of the Convention Center, look for these special quilt exhibits at the show:

“Cotton Poem” Japanese Exhibit: These quilts showcase Japanese scenery and are made using Awa-shijira, a textured woven cotton kimono fabric. The group will be dressed in traditional kimonos and will present small gifts such as origami to visitors.

AQS Online Quilt Contest Winners: The top 15 prizewinning quilts in the 2nd annual AQS Online Quilt Contest will be exhibited.

Pilgrim/Roy Challenge 2008: These quilts are the result of a challenge issued by Gerald Roy to well-known quiltmakers across the country. These quilts will be auctioned at the MAQS Quilt Auction on Thursday.

AQS Springtime Blossoms Contest Quilts: Each year AQS holds a contest of wall quilts that are donated to the MAQS Auction. This year’s theme is quilts depicting flowers that bloom in the spring. These quilts will be auctioned on Thursday.

Pilgrim/Roy Challenge 2009: These quilts are the result of a challenge issued by Gerald Roy to well-known quiltmakers across the country. Challenge quilts will be donated to the 2009 MAQS Auction.
