Baby Dance Quilt

Make a flannel baby quilt for cozy snuggles or a whimsical quilt to inspire the imagination! Baby Dance is a beginner-friendly, super fast quilt pattern.
Baby Dance
32″ x 40″
Fabric Requirements:
Background — 1 1/4 yards
Accent Triangle — 1/2 yard
Accent Square — 1/4 yard
Binding — 1/3 yard
Backing — 1 1/2 yards

Fabric Requirements:
Rainbow Background — 1 1/4 yards
Lime Accent Triangle — 1/2 yard
Pink-Purple Accent Square — 1/4 yard
Lime Binding — 1/3 yard
Backing — 1 1/2 yards
Cutting Instructions
From the background fabric, cut:
(10) 6 1/2″ x 6 1/2″
(40) 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
From the accent triangle fabric, cut:
(10) 6 1/2″ x 6 1/2″
From the accent square fabric, cut:
(20) 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
From the binding fabric, cut:
(4) 2 1/2″ x Width of Fabric
Half Square Triangles
Mark the wrong side of the background 6 1/2″ squares in half diagonally once. Lay a marked background square over an accent triangle 6 1/2″ square, right sides together. Sew a quarter inch from each side of the marked line. Cut apart on the marked line.
Trim unit to 5 1/2” square. Make 20 Half Square Triangles.
Block Assembly
Sew an accent square 3 1/2″ square to the right end of a background 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ rectangle as shown below. Make 20.
Sew a background 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ rectangle to a Half Square Triangle oriented as shown below. Make 20.
Sew the two units together to make a block. Blocks measure 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ unfinished, make 20.
Quilt Assembly
Sew the blocks into rows oriented as shown below. Sew the rows together to complete the quilt top.
Quilt measures 32″ x 40″ finished. Quilt as desired and bind using your preferred method.
