Alice Ridge Quilts

Booth #4404

Alice Ridge is an accomplished quilter, instructor, and speaker …and an experienced world traveler. Over the last forty years, she has combined her love of travel and fiber arts to create and teach a variety of quilting techniques including Japanese Sashiko and Boro, Korean Pojagi and Saeksilnubi, Central American Molas, English Paper Piecing, Celtic Knotwork, Hawaiian Needle turn Appliqué, and African Kawandi and Kantha stitching.

Alice is also well-versed in traditional hand and machine-quilting techniques.

A former military spouse, Alice Ridge, has traveled the world with her husband and moved 22 times during his 35-year Army career. During those travels, she learned various quilting, stitching, weaving, and fiber arts techniques unique to the countries in which they lived and visited. These experiences inspired her to create her own unique designs which she sells through her online business, AliceRidgeQuilts.com.

For the last 12 years, Alice Ridge has traveled across the United States and overseas as a quilt instructor and lecturer sharing her expertise and knowledge with scores of quilting and sewing guilds and shops.

Alice says, “I learned how to sew and embroider by hand when I was in second grade, taught by my grandmother and my great aunt. I was given my first sewing machine when I was in 5th grade and have been sewing ever since. I love all types of quilting and stitching, from Traditional Handwork to Modern Art Quilts. I love to try new techniques and ‘tweak’ old ones to make them new and fresh. I invite you to join me in my Quilting Adventures. Let’s go to new places and learn new things. Let’s stitch our way around the world!”

Busy Lady Quilt Shop

Booth #4318

I am Jennifer Carter owner of Busy Lady Quilt Shop. Sewing has always been a part of my life, mainly for crafting and DIY projects when I was younger. In 2009, I caught the quilting bug after making my first t-shirt quilt. Like so many, I learned from my mom, and quilting quickly became a special bond between us. In 2011, I opened my brick-and-mortar shop in Mt. Washington, KY, and was amazed by how large and eager the quilting community was. Today, Busy Lady Quilt Shop is known for our beautifully curated quilt kits, high-quality fabrics, patterns, and notions. We’re an authorized Janome dealer, offer longarm quilting services, and connect with quilters everywhere through our popular Facebook live sales. As a Kentucky native, AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah has always been a staple in my life, and I’m honored to be a vendor, offering fine-quality quilting supplies to my home state crowd. My goal is to grow and inspire quilters of all ages across the country—whether you’re just getting started or have been quilting for years, I’d love to help you bring your creative vision to life!

Kathleen Fields

Booth #1806

Since 1985, I’ve been passionate about quiltmaking. I spent fifteen years creating quilts, followed by twenty years designing them. After retiring from the quilting world, I ventured into turning my embroidery work into an Etsy business—something that was a perfect fit during the pandemic. My embroidery kits range from charming French boutique shop fronts to whimsical designs like my son’s cat, Luigi, traveling the world, as well as floral animal alphabets and scenes from the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Two years ago, I rediscovered a collection of paper collages I had created years earlier. I decided to transform them into miniature quilts, frame them, and open a second Etsy shop. The collages feature a variety of themes, from Alice in Wonderland and classical composers to religious motifs, medieval romantic tales, and even beloved dog breeds.

Just before Christmas 2024, my granddaughter and I embarked on a new adventure—launching a business creating luxurious body scrubs, moisturizers, and handmade soaps. It’s been an exciting and rewarding journey, stepping into a world beyond textiles. AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah will mark our first opportunity to sell our new company’s "Field + Meadow" products. And since I never do things halfway, there will be an abundance of indulgent soap scents to explore. We’re thrilled to share this new chapter with you.

Kos Artistic Designs

Booth #3602

Tami and Bill quilt, make kiln-formed glass, do fiber arts, and do longarm quilting. They founded Kos Artist Designs out of a love of color and texture. Kos "koosh" is a Norwegian word that does not translate well into English. It is about the simple joys in life like a warm day, snuggling under a quilt, or anything that brings you joy. Their art blends quilting with fused glass. Glass is a unique medium when it is placed in the kiln, it will transform from a group of small pieces into a liquid and then cool slowly to a solid. The kiln reaches 1500° and the glass liquid. Each piece takes two or more days to make.

We will be featuring quilt-themed bowls, yard art, sun catchers, and great gifts for any quilter. We look forward to seeing you in Paducah!

MavaNell Studios

Booth #4105

I'm Denise and MavaNell Studio has been a dream of mine for years. I finally brought it to life in 2018 with an online store. While I love the online aspect, my true passion lies in connecting with fellow quilters. My husband and I are avid travelers, so we decided to take the shop on the road—bringing our beautiful fabrics, exclusive quilt patterns, and quilting tools to quilt shows, guild meetings, and retreats. I design and write many of our patterns and teach classes to share my love for quilting with others. I'm always on the hunt for unique fabrics that you won’t find everywhere. It’s all about creating something special, and I can’t wait to share that with you!

Thimtec Thimble Tape

Booth #4021

Hi! We are Jessica and Aiden. As an award-winning textile designer, I founded Thimtec™ alongside my business partner, a luxury apparel retail manager. Our mutual frustration with traditional thimbles that damaged our manicures and hurt our fingers sparked the idea. With our combined expertise in textiles and fashion, we created Thimtec Thimble Tape™ – a non-adhesive solution that molds to your fingers like a second skin.

Unlike rigid thimbles, our stick-to-itself design leaves no residue on skin or nails, making it perfect for protecting manicures and fingers. Thimtec™ can be worn on multiple fingers and adjusted for any fabric thickness, from silk to denim.

A fun fact about our journey: what started as a solution for our fiber arts/crafting sessions quickly became in demand when my sewing students constantly asked to use it during class! Soon they were asking where they could buy their own. Similarly, our mom friends discovered Thimtec™ was perfect for their kids' crafting projects, providing protection from needle pokes, scissor cuts, and hot glue burns. Now our vibrant colors are making sewing more comfortable and enjoyable for crafters of all ages.
