Mondrian Mug Rugs

Inspired by Piet Mondrian's Composition C (No.III) with Red, Yellow and Blue (1935)

These artful 4" mug rugs can be stitched up in a snap using foundation paper piecing.

Using red, yellow, blue, black, and white fabric scraps, these little works of art make a bold statement perfect for morning coffee!

Download the foundation paper piecing patterns here.

Instructions: 

The pattern page has two pieces to make (1) 4" mug rug.

Cut out the two pieces leaving room around the outer line.

Start with the A side and add the fabrics in order from A1 to A10.

Sew the B side adding fabrics in order from B1 to B7.

Sew the two parts together.

Sandwich, quilt if desired, and bind.
