After I completing my second traditional appliqué quilt, the designer in me started looking for a new technique for my quilts. I wanted to free up the appliqué process - stop worrying about making each appliqué piece fit perfectly with the next. The result was mosaic appliqué: applying individual pieces of fabric to a background cloth, which became the “grout” between the mosaic shapes.

It has taken me several years to refine the techniques and to put them down on paper so that anyone can achieve the same results. I have held nothing back in my endeavor to ensure this process is easily duplicated.

Although I use needle-turn appliqué for most of my quilts, I have also made some quilts with fused appliqué, for the quilter who is looking for quicker results. This book includes instructions for both techniques.
