1. When stitching in the ditch, what do you do if your ditch (or low side of seam) switches at an intersection?
When stitching in the ditch and you cross an intersection in which the "ditch" or low side of seam changes (due to pressing and nestling seams), your ditch quilting must also switch sides in order to stay in the ditch. If your intersection isn't quite as precise as it should be, you may have a slightly jagged stitch at the intersection because you had to cross that point at an angle to get to the ditch. Therefore, this will be a good lesson to you (and all of us) to be as precise as possible with our piecing!
Also, using invisible thread for stitching in the ditch is always a good idea because even if you slip out of the ditch every once in a while, it doesn't show as badly as if you were using cotton thread.
2. What kind of stitches will I learn?
Cindy begins with straight-line quilting. She then she explains how to free-motion quilt. Finally, Cindy teaches how to make beautiful feathers. These three options will give you so many wonderful ways to complete your own quilt tops. And when you do, please post them so we can enjoy your good work!
3. If I have never machine quilted before, will this class teach me how to finish quilting an entire quilt top?
If you have a quilt top that needs to be quilted, this is the class for you! Cindy will show you how to move from marking your quilt to putting the finishing touches on every last quilting stitch.
4. What if I have questions?
We recommend that you watch the class in its entirety and become familiar with the downloadable materials. At that point, if something is unclear, go to the tab that allows you to ask a question and Cindy will get back with you via email. Please do not contact iquilt instructors by telephone.
5. When can I start the class?
We know you are excited to get started. After you have purchased the class, you can enjoy it anywhere and anytime you have the Internet. The class belongs to you, so watch it as many times as you like!
