Sit & Sew Fidget Quilts

At each AQS QuiltWeek event, the American Quilter’s Society partners with a local charity. This year AQS, the Racing Fingers Quilt Guild, and quilters attending the show will be making Fidget Quilts for Alzheimer’s patients.

Look for Sit & Sew Fidget Quilts on the showroom floor and stop to sew a small 20" to 24" quilt that will be donated to a local patient with Alzheimer’s. Quilts are made from a variety of fabrics to create texture, and embellishments like ribbons, cords, buttons, pompoms, empty spools, and other items are added to make a perfect fidget quilt. We can make a difference!

K9 Quilts of Honor®K9 Quilts of Honor®

Honoring our Law Enforcement and Military War Dogs through K9 Quilts of Honor®

K9 Quilts of Honor is a 502(c)3 program, registered in the State of Florida since 2020, as Christian Emergency Readiness Training (CERT) Ministry (www.CERTMinistry.com). The program presents quilts to the K9 handlers in honor of their dog’s services in our communities and county. The quilts are presented, free of charge, in a ceremony after a lifetime of service when the K9 retires or dies in the line of duty.

K9 Quilts of Honor is reaching out to other communities and quilters to establish a nationwide program.

You can:

  • Help by volunteering to put together K9 quilts and present them in your local community or return to CERT Ministry to distribute.
  • Pick up the free K9 Quilts of Honor pattern.
  • Purchase a Belgian Malinois, Labrador Retriever, Hound and German Shepherd (primary working dogs) panel and pattern for a $10.00 donation.
  • Pick up a complete precut kit and pattern to make a K9 Quilt of Honor quilt for a $25.00 donation.
  • Start a K9 Quilts of Honor program in your local community.
