Colorful Calypso: Enjoy Machine Piecing, #17517
Calypso is a great project for an advanced beginner to intermediate scrap quilter! There are sections that are strip pieced and sub cut; and 3 pattern pieces! The sample quilt uses 4 different colorways with a light and dark color value which provides an interesting secondary pattern. This quilt would look great using 2 shades of one color plus 1 light fabric; 2 shades of one color with an accent color plus a light fabric; OR just make it totally scrappy using lights, mediums, and darks!

Crumb Quilted Sticks: Dig Into Your Scrap Stash, #17519
What DO you do with all those leftover scraps? Crumb quilts are the ultimate scrap fabric projects because you are using what you already have in order to create your own fabric! There is no one set way to use “crumbs” - the tiniest amounts of scraps (strips, squares, trimmed triangles, funky sizes, etc.) that you have - the ones you usually throw away because you don't know what to do with them! Remember, those crumbs (of fabric) cost just as much per yard as the original fabric you bought that they came from! NO rules here except to use a 1⁄4” seam allowance. Add fabric to connect your crumb quilted strips in different ways! Machine quilt each strip by sewing 1/4" multiple times on each side. Create any size quilt you want by adding more blocks horizontally and/or vertically!

Explore the World of English Paper Piecing - Lecture and Trunk Show, #CRAW
English Paper Piecing (EPP) is a traditional quilting technique used to fold fabric around paper templates, and then baste them together to create a consistent-sized shape that is much easier to sew by hand then by machine. Once the fabric covered shapes are created, they are hand sewn together like puzzle pieces to create intricate designs that can be used as appliques or quilts. Michele will discuss a variety of EPP geometric shapes and sizes; different ways to baste the fabric; and several ways to sew the shapes together. EPP is a HOT topic in the quilting world these days as it is a precise, portable and meditative technique that is FUN and stress free! A PowerPoint® presentation along with a trunk show will provide inspiration to those wishing to learn more about EPP! Michele will teach you how to hand sew a hexagon flower (kit provided with fabric, templates, needle and thread) so please bring a small pair of sharp scissors (and a thimble if desired).

Radiance: Pieced Medallion Quilt, #17518
Use just 4 fabrics (or make it scrappy using lights, mediums and darks) to create this medallion on point quilt that features several different quilt blocks. You will learn several different techniques for creating a square in a square block or half square triangles! Most of the quilt is template free, but you will learn how to make a template from template plastic for 1 block. Michele will share her accurate cutting, piecing, pressing tips and techniques to help you improve your piecing skills.

Scrappy Carpenter Square, #17520
This template free "variation" on a scrappy log cabin block requires sewing strips and squares together; sub-cutting and sewing them back together to make a 12" block. This 47" square wall- hanging has 5 blocks that are sewn in one color way, and the other 4 blocks are created in a complimentary color way. Michele will share her precise cutting, piecing tips, and pressing tips to help you accurately sew this block, and pieced border.

Talk About Color: See It In Quilts!, #11807
How do YOU use color in your life, and quilts? How does color affect your mood? Michele presents a basic overview of how colors can work together in planning a quilt. Discover how, what, and when to use Color Value, the planned use of light, medium, and dark fabrics, to enhance your quilt designs by exploring the basic use of color in quilts! Michele uses a PowerPoint® presentation along with a trunk show of actual quilts.

The Brimfield Block - Learn English Paper Piecing, #17522
Elevate your EPP skills beyond the hexagon! You will learn how to create 2 different types of curved pieces, and a triangle while sewing them together with the infamous flatback stitch! Michele will also teach you how to hand appliqué your finished piece to a fabric square. A short inspirational PowerPoint® on Lucy Boston blocks will be shown.
