Improvisational Piecing Techniques: Curves and Angles, #37111t
Learn to create your own original quilts with no pattern using improvisational piecing techniques. You will learn to let go of the “rules” and piece blocks in an intuitive, free form fashion. You will explore Improv Circles, Wonky Angled Stripes, and Insets in class. Use strips and scraps to add interest and make your design your own. There’s no measuring or precise cutting and each quilt will be unique. Cindy will discuss color choices and using simple design principles to create an original dynamic composition. Registration for this class includes show admission for Thursday.
Modern Log Cabin on the Home Machine, #37525
Make an Improv Block with the center of your composition and add your own borders – maybe curved strips or asymmetrical open space – it’s completely up to you to make your quilt your own. This process can be adapted to any size quilt, so use your imagination! Cindy will discuss the improv block technique using scraps and different ways to set the block into an interesting design with border options.
