Birds on a Wire: Learn Geese on Edge Technique, #37523

Piecing
Friday, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Van Buren Room
Hiatt, Michelle Renee
All Levels
$80
Plus Materials Fee

What a fun use of the Wing Clipper I and Tucker Trimmer! Learn a variation of the Geese on Edge technique. Start with a simple square, add logs, add a goose, and repeat. There are lots of possible variations! Birds on a Wire pattern offers five sizes and ten different variations using the same technique and fabric. If you want a larger quilt, you can just add more blocks. This is a fabulous project to use up scraps! You can use mixed scraps, Fat Quarters, Fat Eights, etc. for the bright fabrics. The background can be a mixed of fabrics, as well, or yardage. It is important to have enough contrast between your background fabric and the bright fabric. You will need an accent fabric (shown in black here). Neutrals are a great choice for the accent. You want the accent to have contrast from your background fabric, but it can be a few shades away to just create a shadow (taupe with white, grey on black, etc). Or you could go with high contrast (black on white or white on black). Birds on a Wire Pattern (Sew on the Go) and Studio 180 Design’s Wing Clipper™ and Tucker Trimmer I™ are required for workshop.
