Machine Quilting with Sue Nickels - Tips of the Trade, #31801
Sue will discuss the most common questions asked in her machine quilting classes. These include her favorite threads, batting, marking tools, and much more. She will show slides of how to successfully machine quilt your quilt on a home machine from start to finish, including her latest ruler work ideas. Some of Sue’s favorite quilts will be shown and how she quilted them. There will be time for questions at the end. Supplies are not required for a lecture, although you may want to bring a pen and paper to take notes.

Perfect Circle Play with Rulers on the Home Machine, #38525
Using Sue’s “Circle Wedge Rulers,” practice machine quilting on the home machine. Learn how to create perfect circle shapes, from complete circles to portions of circles and arcs. Sue’s “Circle Wedge Ruler” will be available to try in class and for purchase, if desired. Students will work on practice squares in class. A pattern will be provided for a future project. Make machine quilting easy with rulers.

Ruler Work: Basic Shapes on the Sit-Down Longarm, #38113t
Have fun playing with rulers to achieve easy curves and straight lines. This approach will open the doors to many new options for free-motion work on the sit-down longarm machine. Sue will start with basic concepts, then continue with cool and creative ideas! Traditional free-motion quilting will be added after ruler work is complete. Students will work on a small 18” x 18” project provided in a kit. Join in on the fun in this relaxed and informative workshop. Two people per machine. Registration for this class includes show admission for Thursday.
