Bernadette admired the 3” blocks in this pattern, deciding to use them in a medallion quilt that incorporated appliqué. She drafted a medallion and guard panels using appliqués from a pattern book she had on hand. This quilt was completed in 18 months. She was tired of doing edge-to-edge quilts, this one was the first where she had the courage to break free from her usual style.
