Eleanor Burns

Eleanor Burns started a revolution in quilting in 1978 when she self-published her first book, Make a Quilt in A Day: Log Cabin Pattern, which detailed simple-to-follow techniques that compacted months of work into merely a day. Eleanor went on to write over a hundred books, host six seasons of Quilt In A Day on PBS, and train thousands of instructors that teach her methods. With that legacy firmly established, in 2005, AQS members chose her – from among thousands of entries – as one of the greatest living contributors to the art and industry of quilting, awarding her and only four others the title of AQS All-American Quilter.
