Quilting Fun on a Grand Scale!

Join AQS in Grand Rapids, Michigan for a week of quilts! Take quilt classes, enjoy lectures, and shop fabrics, notions and more at the Vendor Merchant Mall. Most of all, be inspired as you explore beautiful quilts, from award-winning and semi-finalist contest quilts to special exhibits.

Scooter Rental

Scooters and wheelchairs will be available to rent from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday during AQS QuiltWeek in Grand Rapids, August 17–20, 2022.

Scooter rental rates are:

  • $40 per half day (1-4 hours)
  • $70 per day (4 hours +)
  • $125 for 2 days
  • $210 for all four show days

Wheelchair rentals: $35 per day

Rent your scooter at the AQS Information Center during QuiltWeek (while supplies last).

If you have a scooter reserved, stop at the AQS Information Center inside the DeVos Place Convention Center to make payment, sign the paperwork, and pick up the key.

Scooters should be returned one hour prior to the show closing each day (5:00 p.m. on Wed., Thurs., and Fri., and 3:00 p.m. on Sat). You will need to return the key to the AQS Information Center.


Quilt AppraisalsQuilt Appraisals

Quilt Appraisals

AQS Certified Quilt Appraisers will appraise new or antique/vintage quilts for insurance replacement, or for sale or donation purposes.

No appointment is necessary, but you can contact Bonnie Browning at 270-898-7903, ext. 146 or bonnie.browning@americanquilter.com to schedule a day and time.

Walk-in appraisals for AQS QuiltWeek – Grand Rapids, MI 2022 will be held Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Appraisal Fee: $75 per quilt, payable at the AQS Information Center prior to the appraisal.

You’ll receive your written appraisal no later than 30 days after the close of the show.

Local Charity

The Santa Claus Girls – Doll Quilts with the West Michigan Quilters’ Guild


At each AQS QuiltWeek event, the American Quilter's Society partners with a local charity. AQS, the West Michigan Quilters’ Guild, and quilters attending the show will be making doll-sized quilts for The Santa Claus Girls project, a volunteer organization that distribute gifts to children of Kent County that may otherwise be without gifts during the Holidays.
Look for the Sit & Sew Charity booth in the Exhibit Hall and stop to help sew a doll quilt. All supplies and sewing machines are provided. We can make a difference!

Quilts of Valor:

Quilts of Valor FoundationLearn about the Quilts of Valor Foundation and making quilts for veterans who have been touched by war. Look for the Quilts of Valor booth in the Exhibit Hall. A special Quilts of Valor presentation will be held on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. in the AQS Learning Center, located in the Exhibit Hall.
