This lecture/demo class (there’s no sewing) is jammed packed with the design information, techniques, and color syllabus of Ricky’s two newest and most popular quilting processes. Locomotion is free-flowing designed pieced using his no-pins precision curved piecing method; and Gridified Art Quilts is a delightful process of using theme blocks mixed with traditional blocks to create stunning pictorial quilts. This is a glorious blend of traditional and contemporary processes that offer no-fail results.

This popular AQS evening event features Ricky Tims in his 19th Paducah concert performance. This evening of music (piano), comedy, and storytelling, combined with motivational anecdotes, will no doubt become one of the highlights of your 2024 QuiltWeek experience.

Although the emphasis in this lecture/demo class is directed to smart phone users, the guidelines and principles presented are applicable to any camera. Take your photos from “blah” to “ahh” and beyond. A portion of this class covers how to take better quilt photos—especially for show submissions and online display. You’ll walk away instantly wanting to take advantage of what you absorbed in class. There’s so much included that you’ll be glad there’s a color syllabus to take away. Supplies are not required for a lecture, although you may want to bring a pen and paper to take notes.
