After nearly two decades of running the business, she sold it in 2022 to pursue her passion for teaching and creating art quilts. Known for her innovative use of color and design, Carly brings her expertise to workshops and lectures, sharing her knowledge with quilting guilds across the country. Her engaging teaching style makes her workshops a great opportunity for quilters of all skill levels to explore new techniques and trends. In this workshop, students will learn how to use solid colors to design a wall hanging with movement and dimension inspired by the unique style of renowned sculptor Yaagov Agam. Using fusible interfacing, students can create their own dynamic wall hanging. During the workshop, students will get a good start on their project, enough to finish independently. In the scissors class students will learn the basics of collage, more specifically color collage. Students will learn how to fuse and cut fabrics, dealing with the limitations of the design. This is helpful for any style collage. They will also learn how to make a nice flow in color by placing their fabrics in such a way that it will look like one fabric in the end.
