Instructor

Quinn, Kate
Kate’s fascination with quilting began when she received a Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt as a wedding present in 1991. The gift of a second scrappy quilt further solidified her love of fabrics and colors. She made her first quilt to celebrate the birth of her first child around 1993. Kate has loved quilting ever since and loves all styles and types of quilts. Originally a native of California, Kate graduated from West Point in 1991. Right after graduation, she began her life together with her husband Patrick by serving in the Army. She left the service in 1998 to be at home with their five children. For the next two decades, quilting became the bridge that helped her to build relationships in each new community. As her kids have grown, so have her quilting skills. She started teaching about 18 years ago. In 2016, Kate also became a professional longarm quilter, opening FabriKated Quilts, and was introduced to Westalee Design’s quilting rulers and templates. Kate is thrilled and proud to be a Sew Steady Education Ambassador and a Westalee Design Accredited Teacher. The freedom and creativity generated by these tools can be so satisfying. She wants to give that power to quilters everywhere. Kate loves sharing her passion for quilting and art. For more information, visit katequinn.com
