Reps, Kyra
Kyra Reps is an award-winning quilter, designer, teacher, longarm quilter, and textile artist. A self-taught quilter, she has been quilting since grade school. In 2006, when her middle son was diagnosed with leukemia, Kyra spent many years in the hospital and rediscovered her love for hand sewing. In 2016, she launched Quilting Tranquility, a business focused on commission quilts and custom free-motion quilting. Kyra began competing in quilt shows, and in 2019, she won first place at AQS QuiltWeek - Daytona Beach with her stunning SERENDIPITY quilt. Since then, she has earned multiple First Place and Best Longarm Quilting awards at national quilt shows. Kyra now teaches turned-edge appliqué using the APLIQUICK method, enhanced with her signature dot painting technique. Known as "The Queen of Dots," she is passionate about helping others create perfectly turned-edge shapes and intricate mandala designs. Kyra lives on a farm in rural Iowa (literally in the middle of a cornfield!) with her husband and five children, where she spends her time quilting, tending her expansive eight-acre garden, or camping with her family.
