Get ready for four unforgettable days of quilting with one instructor, one project, and one incredible opportunity to deepen your skills. At the AQS Seam Quilt Retreat, you’ll choose the instructor who inspires you and spend the entire retreat learning directly from them in a focused, hands-on setting. Group lunches and evening events bring all retreat attendees together. However, your learning experience is in a private classroom with your chosen instructor and classmates.
Session Description:
Join Gina Perkes for an inspiring and hands-on quilting session that demystifies the art of quilting! Gina believes that "the quilting makes the quilt" and is passionate about helping you overcome any hesitation you may have about quilting your own quilts on your own sewing machine. Throughout this engaging session, you'll learn her process for planning quilting designs tailored to your quilt tops. With Gina’s help, you'll dive into ruler quilting and various freemotion techniques, gaining confidence and skill in no time. As you work through the techniques, Gina will share her years of experience to provide personalized support, ensuring you feel empowered every step of the way. Plus, you'll discover her innovative quilt-as-you-go technique, allowing you to quilt smaller pieces and then seamlessly join them together for a polished finish. Prepare to leave with newfound knowledge, improved skills, and the confidence to take on any quilting project!

Project Description:
In this session, you will focus on mastering quilting techniques that elevate your quilt tops. You’ll learn to create beautiful quilting designs and enhance your quilting skills, while you finish your small pieces with Gina's innovative quilt-as-you-go method. By the end of the retreat, you’ll leave with the confidence to quilt your own creations and a quilt showcasing your experience.
