Project Description:

Under The Sea: Underwater Scene

This mixed media project was inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the underwater world Judith observed while diving in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. Captivated by the vibrant sea gardens, she developed techniques over the years to recreate these scenes through needlework and embellishment. The project incorporates hand-dyed cotton, silk, sheers, cheesecloth, and scrim, using fabric as a painter would use colors to bring the underwater landscapes to life. Each creation is unique, and once completed, it can be finished as a wall hanging or framed to resemble a painting with a mat and frame, adding a touch of artistry to any space.
