Whether you’re an experienced quilter or a curious beginner, this dynamic workshop will guide you through the vibrant and expressive world of art quilting. Explore a rich variety of techniques, from layering and texture to stitching and surface design, as you learn to transform fabric, thread, and mixed media into stunning, one-of-a-kind fiber art. By the end of the class, you’ll walk away not only with your own handcrafted masterpiece, but also the confidence and skills to keep creating from your own artistic voice.

The workshop will include sessions on:

• Basic art principles such as proportion, focal point, color, and texture
• Creating a background with techniques to add color to fabric, such as
• Inktense Pencils/Blocks
• Acrylic Paints
• Stencils
• Water-Based Inks
• Experiment with fibers to create surface design using wool roving, sari silk, cheesecloth, novelty fabrics, threads, yarns, and more
• Layering a quilt within a quilt to create a main feature within the design
